Hello!

I have noticed a strange behavior in version 2026.1 regarding encoder tracking in X1 mode that worked perfectly in 2025.1. Currently, counting fails unless the Z-channel is inverted, despite only two phases (A, B) being physically connected and used. While the channel setup correctly shows the frequency, the measure mode graph only displays accurate data when the movement direction matches the sign of the raw count.

Specifically, if the raw count is positive and increasing, the data is correct; however, if the direction reverses and the count decreases while remaining positive, the graph shows nonsense data. Correct readings only resume once the raw count crosses zero into negative territory. I have attached a .dxd files where this corrupted data is clearly visible during these sign/direction mismatches.

Thanks for contacting us. I'll need some time to analyse the data you sent and I'll get back to you.

@Martin Võip

On the counter setup screen, you will find an option for 'Encoder Zero.' Please ensure this is toggled Off if you are not using a Signal Z. When this setting is enabled without a physical Signal Z connection, it expects a reset signal that never arrives, which causes calculation errors and incorrect values.

Could you try disabling this and let me know if the readings stabilize?
