When the "Remap Channels" window opens it shows the Motherboard serial number, not the device S/N which is easier to identify because the number is on two different stickers on the outside of the device.

This makes it difficult to determine which unit was used when opening up a test created with a different device.

The only way to check the motherboard S/N is to close the remap channels window and open the options>settings>device window.

It would be much easier if the device S/N was displayed in the remap channels window so I could just glance at the stickers on the outside of the device.

Hello,

The comment from our head SW developers is:

I do generally agree, but it was done intentionally in that way for several reasons.

Multi slice Sirius devices have more than one motherboard and only one serial number.

Rack Sirius device has even more serial numbers (Motherboard, Device (for single rack), Rack for whole system).

It was done in that way so that it is the same for all cases.

More or less main reason that serial number is there is for "one-click" button which assigns all serial numbers to the same ones. Useful, when you remove one device from the chain and want to reassign channels so that all other channels are still connected to the same physical channels and not swapped, because one device is missing.

In most other cases, remapping is done by channel names.

In case that something would change regarding this, I'll get back to you in this post.

Kind regards,

Matjaž

I see the logic behind this. Thank you. I will make my own labels with mobo s/n for each device.
