Voice annotation/voice event

In the past, I thought there was a feature in Dewesoft software that would allow voice annotation to be recorded along with regular data. I thought that this feature would allow the selection of a sound card based microphone as the source. I see that there is still a microphone symbol next to the event window, yet I do not see any way to use it. Is there any mechanism in current software that would support this feature?

you can still use this feature in DEWESoft, you just have to enable it in settings under the user interface tab.
