I recorded some test data using X3 SP10. Should this file be usable in all installations of X3 regardless of the SP revision? Another engineer with X3 SP4 is attempting to run some additional analysis on the file but is receiving a compatibility error from DEWESoft. They do not receive this error when looking at files created with X3 SP9.

Thank you.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for question. Datafile should be usable in all versions from lower version to higher e.g. measured in SP4 could be opened in any higher version.

If you want to open the data file in reverse direction e.g. measured in SP10 and trying to open in SP7, you get and warning says ''File was created with newer version of Dewesoft. Forward compatibility is not guaranteed''. This is just a warning. If you get any other error which is not common with my writing, send us bugreport and we will have a look at it.

Best regards

Hello Matic

I'm experience the same issue, but cant get pass the warning, it never open the data file for review. Recorded with Version 2021.6 (release 220222) (64-bit) and try to open with SP5 (release 190116)

Best regards

Hi,

if the data file is recorded with a newer version of Dewesoft it is not guaranteed the older version will be able to open it.

There might be some options or channels that were not supported in previous versions.

I would suggest upgrading X3 SP5 version to a newer one.

Thanks, it explains why it doesn't work, but don't really match the answer from Matic above.
