As title says...

I'm sending a Recorder widget to a secondary monitor, but the moment I do the software on the primary monitor becomes unresponsive.

I can interact with Windows, Start menu, desktop items etc but cannot click on anything in Dewesoft.

Had to force close through Task Manager.

EDIT:

I think I figured it out.

I'm not sure how, but I think the Manage Displays popup window was on the secondary monitor when Attaching the widget to it. It left the window in focus but hidden underneath the widget which I could not access

Suggestion? Maybe have Dewesoft auto close the popup window once a monitor has been "assigned" or constrain the window to within Dewesoft boundaries and not allow the user to move it outside of the frame.

This took an embarrassingly long time to resolve but perhaps my humble admission will help someone else.

Dear Lemmy,

thank you for reaching out to us. The Manage display window is sometimes minimized and it is usually positioned in the left bottom corner, please refer to the attached image. You can show this Manage display window by pressing ALT+Tab twice to cycle to some other application then back to DewesoftX and the window should be visible.

Kind regards.

@Gregor Šmit

None of what you mentioned above will happen if I accidently move the manage display window to the secondary display then attach a widget to secondary display. Please try it and see if I'm not mistaken.

I tried just now to verify my theory and I cannot retrieve the display window due to it being hidden behind the attached monitor. Alt+Tab just cycles through my opened apps, the display window is not one of them.

I again had to force close DS.

Easy solution: "Don't move the manage display window over to the other monitor.." But it happens, and when it does there's no easy way to retrieve it. Force closing should never be a workaround

Dear Lemmy,

thank you for describing how you were able to "hide" the manage display window. We were able to reproduce this behavior. The solution is to press ALT+F4 to close the display window and the manage displays window will be visible.

Kind regards.
