Two files analysis
Hello, is it possible to view two data files in one analysis window to compare results with different parameters? How? Or do I need some 3rd party software?
Thanks

Hello,
you can use the import option to import channels that you want to compare. Another option is to export both datafiles and open them with 3rd party software.
I attached a image showing how to import channels from one data file to another.
Kind regards

Hello, thanks for reply, but I am using dewesoft 7.1.1 with standard computer, there is no option to import channels. So I will use matlab to process the data.
I would like to be able to do something like this as I have 3 recordings from a fixed set of sensors that were interrupted when I needed to adjust a sensor or two (and had to stop DEWESoft).
I opened my earliest file then tried to import all the channels from the second file with the time set to absolute. After selecting the channels of interest and clicking "import" a progress counter updated for a little while then stopped before hitting 100%. When I then went to "review", there was no change in length of data file or new end time.
This is my third attempt at posting to this topic. IE11 refuses (?) to submit the screenshots successfully - so no attachments I'm afraid.
update: it would appear to be a "company" thing, not an Internet browser-related problem as I was unable to attach screenshots when using Chrome. I hope, therefore, I have given enough information for you to diagnose my incorrect usage of DEWESoft!

Hello, did you try updating your version of Dewesoft? If this doesn't help please let me know what version you are using so I can try to reproduce this bug. Any informaton on what kind of channels (sync, async, real, complex, vector,..) you are trying to import would also help.
I am using X2 SP5 (possibly with a DEMO license to look at complex channels). I'll send information to "supportAT.yourcompanyname.com" for reference.

Can I import a multi file? I need to compare 2 different multi files.
Thanks,

Hi, it is not possible to directly import a multi file into another multi file, but you can open a multi file and then import individual files of the second multi file.
In the bottom picture is a simple example, where I created two multi files one from Test 0 to Test 4 and the second from Test 5 to Test 7 and then imported the second one into the first one.
I hope this is the answer you were looking for.
Regards,
Anže

Hi, the problem with importing individual files, is the graph looks bad. I have attached a picture. This is something I do every day. We need to be able to compare 2 data files that are multi files. What is the point of using a multi file if I can't compare it to another multi file. Every day I test a machine with setup A. Then I change something, and I use setup B. Then I need to graph them and compare them. I recorded the time it takes me to export a multi file to a normal DEWESoft file, then import only certain channels I need to compare, and for a 1,000 Hz sample rate and a 2.5 hour data run, it takes me 13 minutes for the exporting and importing the data just to graph it. With our HBM eDAQs I can use infield, and within 5 seconds, I can compare 2 different data runs that are 4 hours long. Can something be done so I can compare 2 multi files without having to export them to a non multi file? I think lots of other people compare 2 different multi files.
Thanks,
MJ

Hello, I have forwarded your suggestion to our developers and it's on their feature request list. I cannot say, when this option will be added, but we'll inform you immediately, when a version of DEWESoft with this feature will be added to our web page.

Hello,
When I import my channels to another project, the channels are imported but all the imported channels are empty. I cannot see any value in the imported channel.
Why?
Could you please help me about it? Thank you.
With kind regards.
