Trace resolution

When showing a long duration of data, dewesoft shows an envelope (thick line between the min and max values recorded in a certain time) instead of the actual sample by sample data. When I zoom in, the true data is displayed.

The switch between showing full data and the envelope of the data occurs long before my PC's screen runs out of resolution. Is there any way to change the level of zoom at which the change from full data to envelope occurs? Ie can I force dewesoft to use the full (4k) resolution of my screen when showing data?

Dear Nick,

thank you for reaching out to us.

I can see that you are experiencing blobbing on Zoomed-out data on a Recorder widget. This blobbing is due to a multi level buffer structure, which is really well described in our FAQ article, Optimize sample buffers for best signal visualization.

To try and mitigate the issue, you can try enabling the Optimize sample buffers for best signal visualization checkbox, which can be found in Settings -> Advanced -> Performance, under the Memory dropdown menu.

Best regards,

Pika

Thanks; that sorts out something that has irritated me for the last 10 years (or more!). Plots much improved.
