Hi!

I made a sequence that measure and store 1 min every 15 min. I also have a web camera (DirectX) connected to dewesoft which records 1 min video.

My problem is that the video file getting big and I also do not need 1 min video.

I would like to record less than 1 min or maybe only take a picture with the web camera. Is it possible to do that?

Dear Benji,

unfortunately, you can only capture a video with the DirectX camera connected to Dewesoft.

I suggest that you set the lowest possible Frame rate, which should be 1 FPS and add the compression in video settings (see the attached picture). The best compression to use is the H264.

OK, Thanks!

Is it possible to have two setup files in one sequence?

Dear Benji,

sure you can open different Setup files in one sequence.

You can also look into the solution on the Sequencer topic on the following link. If you will need additional support please let us know.

@Eva Kalšek

Is it still the case that there is not an option to take a picture from a webcam in Dewesoft? For instance, capture a singe frame from a webcam DirectX feed and treat it as a picture? We are looking to capture a single frame every 15 minutes, but need full quality for the photo when we capture it.

Thank you,

Daniel

Dear Daniel,

thank you for contacting us. There is no option to take a single picture from a webcam. There is an option to record a video and then save specific frame as an image. To save video image, displayed in Video widget, please select Edit (right upper corner), next to Options, and select Save to file... and Widget to image (please refer to the attached image). There is also an option to save screen as images: Edit->Save to file...->Export screen to AVI...

Kind regards.

Hi,

I am also looking for this feature. Storing video is not an option but storing 1-2 frames per setupfile would be a significant improvement of our measurement capabilities.

Hi,

we don't have possibility to take pictures, but you can use fast on trigger to store video.

This way, you will only get a few frames.

That would work if I could use separate triggers for video and the normal storing triggers, which I believe is not possible today? Cause I need the full speed data of my other channels for most of the time, but would like the video to be triggered by much fewer triggers. Would be a lovely feature!

I kind of solved this issue by creating two sequences, one for storing the data in 15min and another one for storing a few seconds of video and then I put those two sequences in a loop.
