Time reference curve problem

Hello,

I have a situation where I need to do a 5s measurement file and use it as a reference to the next measurement. The problem is that the trigger may be armed anywhere between 1 second and 5 minutes, and the measurement file adopts the relative time base of the file. So the curves do not "line up".

Is there a way to set the relative time 0 from the trigger instead of arming the trigger?

Thanks in advance.

UPDATE->

I just found out that there are 2 different import functions, one for the data files and one is a module of the analyze section. So I found my needed functionality.

I'm glad you found the solution! It's great that the analyze section's import function allows you to set the relative time 0 from the trigger. basketball stars

Here are some additional insights that might be helpful:

  • Trigger Timing: If you have control over the trigger timing, you could consider setting it to occur exactly 1 second after the measurement starts. This would ensure that the reference measurement always starts at the same relative time, making it easier to align with subsequent measurements.
  • Time Synchronization: If you're dealing with multiple devices or systems, ensure that they are synchronized to a common time source to avoid timing discrepancies. This can be achieved using GPS time synchronization or network time protocols like NTP.
  • Data Alignment: In case you still encounter alignment issues, you might need to apply data alignment techniques. This could involve shifting the data or adjusting the time base to ensure that the curves line up correctly.

I hope this information is helpful!

Dear Eetu,

I understand that you would like to generate datafiles (triggered) that the time starts from 0s for ever new datafile. If you're using "Fast on trigger" you get some elapsed time before the trigger appears. Such datafiles misalign your reference file and triggered file when you import them together.

To overcome this I believe that using "Trigger action" plugin instead of "Fast on trigger" storing will solve the problem. It will generate a datafile when the trigger appears. The time will be 0s. You can use the following settings. Input channel is when you want to trigger the storing.

You can download Trigger action plugin from this link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1b1cDx3tGFjQN9WTxizJMrYpVhjKWuZnF and them copy the plugin to Addons64 folder
