Hi,

We are scratching our heads, trying desperately to understand why some fields are available in one setting but not another when using Basic Statistics. Could anyone, preferably DEWESoft reps, explain why:

  1. Median value not available in block or single value based formulations, but only in running.
  2. Max, min, peak and more are, in contrast, not available in running but in single value and block based.

BR,

Benjamin

Dear Benjamin,

thank you for reaching out to us. The fields that are unavailable are too much time intensive. For example the running is a version of overlapping where the second block is calculated after one sample after the first block. In this case when the maximum sample is out of block a new maximum will need to be calculated over the samples in the block and the new sample. In this case the alternative is to use Block based calculation with overlap as absolute value.

The Median can be calculated over a defined region i.e. number of samples. A Mean single value would need to be calculated over all of the samples in the data file.

Please let us know what you would like to calculate and we can assist you.

Kind regards.
