Hi!

I am currently trying to have dewesoft7 record video and sound simultaneously. I have a GIGE camera perfectly set up and working fine. But I'm having issues trying to set up a microphone to record sound.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I'm not sure where exactly you run into an issue. Here is a link to our PRO training which covers microphones, and also has examples on their connection and calibration setups. The instructions are meant for X2, but the interface isn't too different and the tutorial should be able to help you with your problem. If not, could you please specify where you're getting stuck so we'll be able to provide a solution?

I've been trying to install the plugin for Sound Power by placing the .dll file into the dewesoft's addon folder. (D:\Dewesoft7\bin\V7_1\Addons)

Then in Dewesoft7, I go into the hardware setup, and click on plugins. I turn on Sound Power, but then it says under the registration status that it is not supported. I then click on the Registration's tab, and see that the issue is "missing pluggin".

Hi,

thank you for sharing the additional information. I believe that your license does not include the "Sound power" option, which is needed if you want to use the sound power plugin. I can't be exactly sure since I can't see your license number, but if you didn't purchase this option, then you will not be able to use it with your license. On the contrary, if you specifically included this option in your license, then you can send me your license number to the support email and I can check it in our database.

Okay I see.

Is there perhaps another way I am able to record sound, just to have audio in my video?

I saw that if I went into the Analog settings of the Hardware Setup, I am able to switch the Analog device from "Dewetron DAQ" to "Audio Card". By doing that, I can select a channel to display a signal from a Microphone via USB, but I cannot use any of the DAQ modules in the DEWE-800.

Hi,

if you have a microphone with an analog output, you should be able to simply record it's data as an analog input (in IEPE mode) and then use that channel as an audio source in your data file. When you play back the file, you'll be able to hear the sound that you've recorded. I've attached a picture that shows you where to select the correct option.

If you have an USB microphone, then you will not be able to use your microphone and DEWE-800 to record data at the same time.
