Simulation mode with file replay

In the DSX manual it shows that when you select the simulation mode there are three options:

• Simulated channels
• Sound card
• File replay

But when I run DSX there are only two options - FILE REPLAY is missing.

I am using this version:

DewesoftX

Version: 2025.1 (RELEASE-250317) (64-bit)

Build: Release

How can I get access to this file replay mode?

thank you for reaching out to us. The FileReplay is not included in the installer by default. You can download it from our webpage. If you will have issues downloading the file jsut download the whole FileReplay folder.

I downloaded the whole file replay folder, but it is not shown how to install it. Do I just put the FileReplay64.daq file into a certain folder?

since you have downloaded the whole folder there should be multiple version of the extension inside. Unzip the latest and copy this FileReplay folder inside the Addons64 (if you have 32-bit DewesoftX installation put it into Addons folder) folder which is located under Bin64 folder.

Thank you. I unzipped the latest 64-bit version of FileReplay folder and put it into the Addons64. Now I get the option to select a file for replay in the menu, but something is wrong.

First, it looks wrong graphically.

But ignoring that for now, when I click the button [...] to select a file, it seems to be looking not for a file with an RPL extension. I cannot select a Dewesoft data file.

My guess is that I need to open a datafile and then export it into the RPL format. I see the FileReplayExport.exp file in the main File Replay folder.

Is it correct that I must install this export filter? Where do I put it in the file system? I tried it in several places without effect.

the process for adding the FileReplayExport is the same as for FileReplay. Since the FileReplayExport64 is inside FileReplay folder you can check if you can already export the data to RPL by opening a data file and checking for Replay (*.rpl):

After creating the export you can than import the data file.

The graphical issue could be due to a display scaling. Please try changing the scaling to 100%:

I don't have the *.rpl export format.

I did copy the FileReplayExport.exp file into the FileReplay folder under AddOns64

So, I don't know why this option is missing under the export format selector.

since you are using the FileReplay64.daq for File replay you also need to use the FileReplayExport64.exp file. You can check with DCOMReg.exe, which is located alongside DEWEsoft.exe inside Bin64 folder, by selecting Addons box and pressing Register button if there is any error when registering the export.
