I have a Debron optical velocity meter with RS232 output I'm trying to read into Dewesoft.

According to the manual the output is configured as follows: 1 start bit, 7 data bits, no parity, 2 stop bits, 9600 baud.

So far I've got a valid connection but I'm unable to receive any messages and I'm wondering if its because there's no Start Bit option in the Serial Com settings (under extensions).

I don't work with serial communications very much and this is the first time attempting such with Dewesoft.

Dear Lemmy,

thank you for reaching out to us. Since you can not see any data please try a different Flow Control setting. In the attachment I am sending two different settings that you can try. If none of these two are working then maybe you can try some other ones. Please let us know which combination works for you.

Kind regards.

@Gregor Šmit

Unfortunately none of those combinations work for me.

Can you speak to how the "Start Bit" works? Does it matter?

According to this article it should be configurable to 0 or 1, and the manual explicitly states a 1 as a start bit.

Dear Lemmy,

I have checked with our developers and the SerialCom start bit is set to 1. Since you can not read the SerialCom with our plugin would it be possible that you try with some other software like python to check if you can read the signal from your sensor?

Kind regards.
