"Select Instance" pop up box when opening a .dxd file from Explorer View
Why do I get a "Select Instance" box pop up when I attempt to open a file?
It appears to happen when I browse for a file via the "show in Explorer" path
It can be the same file located in the DEWESoft "Data" directory or on a USB drive, so the physical path doesn't seem to make a difference. Its a function of browsing via the Explorer view that prompts the box.
Whats the purpose for this?

Dear Lemmy,
to disable multiple instances you need to uncheck the setting below:
Maybe a Dewesoft instance is running in the background - check the Task Manager and close any other Dewesofts.
Whats the purpose for this?
Here are some articles that show the use case for the multiple instances:

@Rok Kmetič
So this is interesting.
"Allow multiple instances of Dewesoft" was enabled.
But now that I've disabled, it won't let me open a file via the Show in Explorer path. For instance, if I use Show in Explorer to load a path from a network drive or USB drive by double-clicking the .dxs file nothing happens.
Is this expected behaviour?
Customer Support Engineer
Dear Lemmy,
I have tested the behavior as you described.
Everything works well if you open DXD files when Dewesoft is in the analysis mode:
If you try to open the setup file in analyses mode nothing will happen unless you have the multiple instances turned on. In this case, a new Dewesoft instance will open.
For instance, if I use Show in Explorer to load a path from a network drive or USB drive by double-clicking the .dxs file nothing happens.
Is this expected behaviour?
I have talked with the developer and this is expected behavior. Opening setup file DXS from a different location when Dewesoft is already running is not possible.
Best Regards.
