RMS vs QRMS

In math channels (under "basis statistics"), calculation can be done for RMS and QRMS.
What is the difference between these two? Is RMS the "standard" root mean square (true RMS) method? And what is QRMS?

Thanks!

Hi,

QRMS is quadratic RMS. In the attachment you'll find the formula for QRMS and RMS.

Kind regards

Urban

Thanks for the mathematical description. Can you tell me some applications where the QRMS is used instead of the RMS? Or could you explain me the practical application where I have to use the QRMS. AC RMS is linked to the I^2*R to represent the power equivalent. How is QRMS linked to any electrical value? THX
