New X3 SP9 user here. Ran into a bit of an issue setting up a simple pressure transducer. 

The calibration sheet for the 150-psi transducer gave a Sensitivity(FS) of 10.223 mV/V which I entered in the "Sensitivity" field of the X3 software. This of course returned erroneous values. 

Turns out I needed to do my own calculation by dividing the Sensitivity from the cal sheet by the full scale of the transducer; so in this case 10.223/150=0.0681532

It's the calculated 0.0681532 X3 was expecting to see not the 10.223mV/V from the cal sheet. 

Every other data acquisition software I've used simply requires you to enter the full scale and mV/V sensitivity, both of which are supplied on any industry-recognized calibration certificate.


Curious as to what the logic is behind forcing the user to calculate his/her own sensitivity? Seems like the calculation can easily be done in software if you added a full-scale entry box in the setup window.

To be fair, this is not overly cumbersome for me to do, it's just "different" and I need to remember to take the extra step, not too big a deal. 

But more importantly, had I not already known what PSI to expect I would've accepted the values from the first attempt which would've resulted in bad data, and that's not good. 

Call me a fool but its not exactly fool-proof.

You have a choice to either enter scaling "By two points" or "By function". You picked the second option where you need to set the coefficient and offset, but it sounds like you would want to choose "By two points" and enter "0 V equals 0 V" and "150 V equals 10.223 V" instead, so there should be no need to do the calculation manually.
