Output sound file during measurement

Dear DEWESoft Team,

is it possible to output a wave file during a measurement using X3? For example if I want to use a test signal that is different than pure tones or noise available in the Function Generator? I tried using the arbitrary mode of the Func. Gen. with the time signal of the wave file as points but that didn't get me the desired result.

Can I do this via a sequence or in another way?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Patrick

Dear Patrick,

we would need some additional information about this issue. It is possible to output a channel via Analog output, did you mean with wave file .wav format? Then the file could be imported and then replayed as a channel.

Could you please provide a setup file and the wave file so we can look into this issue?

Kind regards.

Dear Rok,

thanks for your reply. You are correct, I want to output a *.wav file during the data aquisition via the output channel. Could you describe how to import the *.wav file as a channel? Or direct me to the entry in the manual where this is described since I was not able to find information on how to do this.

In the function generator I know that you can change the output type to 'channel'.

I attached a pretty empty setup and an example *.wav file that I would like to start to output when I start the data aq.

Thank you for your assistance! It is highly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Patrick

Dear Patrick,

first I want to apologize for the late response.

This was a group brainstorm and we come up with a solution:

We downloaded a microphone simulator to output the .wav file on the microphone. In the device settings menu, we selected the Sound card for the simulated channel. Then we used the simulated microphone for as the audio device.

If you don't have the Audio Card plugin it can be downloaded from our webpage, which you have to copy the file in the Addons folder.

When the plugin is added the Dewesoft must be restarted and we suggest to run it as administrator.

Then we recorded the sound in Dewesoft and then exported only one loop it into .txt file. When exporting the sound we zoomed in to the signal and put the yellow cursor on the start of the wave and with time selector set the offset so that the exported data time will start at zero seconds.

Once we got the text file we copy-pasted the data into the frequency generator set as arbitrary (right-click anywhere on the white area and paste from clipboard).

This is how we got the simulated wave sound on the output channel, which can be used during measurements.

I hope the above is useful to you. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further information.

Kind regards.
