I was wondering if a Linux build of your software is planned for the future. The data I need to analyze is much too big and requires more resources than a typical desktop can provide. I'd like to remote into my company's server instead.

We don't have plans to port entire Dewesoft to Linux, but in future we will make Linux based data logger based on our new planned rugged distributed data modules. Time frame for that is around 1-2 years from now.

For analysis of very large datasets we will make 64 bit version of Dewesoft X in next year's X2 release.

@Jure Knez Linux has gained a lot of traction since 2013 and has become a very common OS in the scientific community due to its advantages over Windows. Is your post still valid or is there a chance to see a Linux compatible version of Dewesoft X in the future?

Thank you.

Dear R.D.

thank you for reaching out to us. The post is still valid, there are no plans to port the whole DewesoftX to Linux. An open data acquisition platform openDAQ is in development. The openDAQ SDK will allow the users to discover, configure and receive data from any openDAQ compatible sensors, devices and instruments in their favorite programming environments like C++, C#, Python, Labview and others. It can be used on any host computer running Linux, Windows or Mac OS.

Kind regards.
