Hi,

While in measuring mode and storing, I'm storing multiple .dxd files every 15 minutes. Is it possible to store/export these files as a .mat-file while continuing the measurements?

This is because the setup should be during measurements for a long period (>4 months), and for safety reasons, the files are stored in 15 15-minute blocks. I don't want to spend time exporting the .dxd into .mat files after this period.

Dear Casper,

thank you for reaching out to us. There is a solution Save time by exporting during measurement. We also have a solution on how to export multiple data files using the sequencer -> with this example you will need enable the option Allow multiple instances of Dewesoft. Then open Dewesoft in simulation mode and with the help of the sequence in the solution you can create a new sequence which exports data which was recorded with another instance in real measurement mode.

Kind regards.

Thanks for your response! I got the sequencer to work with one modification.

The sequencer should keep searching for files since data is being stored simultaneously. But then a new problem occurs, since it start exporting those files that already have been exported. So, is it possible in the sequence loop to delete the data file after it has been exported? I've tried with 'Delete File' block, but without any luck so far

Dear Casper,

you need to "close" the opened file to be able to delete it. So one solution would be to go to Analyze after export block and then delete the .dxd file. There is an option that you could do and that is to check the file name and if the export exists you can then load the next file - I am attaching a sample sequence (please change it accordingly for your folder paths and files) on how to skip the export. I have also included an image of a sequence to delete the file after it was exported by adding Analyze and Delete file blocks after Export block.

EDIT: Deleting .dxd files is not recommended. The export to Matlab could have bugs and you will looses the original data file and data!

Kind regards.

@Gregor Šmit

I'll take a look at it, see if I can get it to work.

No, I know it is not recommended to delete the original file, but due to data security, I want to save the data in an easily accessible file, like .csv or similar, not a .dxd. As far as I know, this is NOT possible while storing in the software, so this step is necessary during the data acquisition.
