Excel Writer Header Info

In Excel Writer there is an option for "Write Header Info" which writes the channel name to Excel. Is it possible to also write other channel properties like Unit, Description and Tags?

thank you for reaching out to us. There is currently no way to write other channels such as Unit, Description and Tags to Excel directly from the Excel Writer setup. Instead, you can pre-make an Excel datafile and create columns with Units, descriptions and Tags, that you copy off of DewesoftX channel setup. 

Then, use the newly created Excel file as a template file. 

You should now be able to see both the pre-written static channels (Units, Descriptions, Tags) and the channels that are changing live in Excel.

Thanks. Unfortunately, pre-populated Excel templates won't work for me because my setups change frequently and it would be arduous to have a template for every setup permutation.

Can you please submit a feature request for enhancing the Excel Writer "Write Header Info" option to include other channel properties like Unit, Description and Tags?

This feature would be very beneficial to us. Currently we need to manually add units and descriptions to our Excel reports.

The request is still on the developer's list, however, there are currently no plans in place to implement it, so I cannot give you a timeline for when this would be selected for development.
