I use Dewesoft X3 64 bit. As the 64 bit doesn't support most of the plugins, I tried to uninstall 64 bit and install 32 bit version.

But while uninstalling the 64 bit version, I get an error message (see attached). Please can you help?

Hi,

we've never run into this error, even though we've tested a ton of install/uninstall procedures. Did you perhaps remove any crucial files manually?

Also, you can have separate installations of 32 and 64-bit version on the same computer, if space is not an issue for you.

Thanks for the feedback.

I do not recollect removing any files knowingly at least. Does the error code in the picture attached mean anything to you.

As a matter of fact, I had tried installing the 32 bit version along side 64 bit, but that didn't go down well. For some reason, I lost the Ethernet and I couldn't get back on line. Had to restore the PC to a known good state. I first though this was a coincidence, but I tried repeating the same process, i.e restore and install the 32 bit version. On every attempt the control on Ethernet was lost. So its only logical that something about Dewesoft is not being handled well. Please can you help as this a pressing issue!!!

I have since restored the PC and running 64 bit version, but without no support on plugins.

Hi,

unfortunately the error doesn't mean much to the development team here. I've attempted to reproduce the problem several times, but haven't had any success.

I'm aware of one issue where you lost your EtherNET connection upon installing DEWESoft, but that was somewhere in the X2 line. Are you using the latest 32-bit X3 installer? The issue I'm referring to was caused by the GigE vision camera driver, but that has since been removed and replaced by an alternative program called OptoStream. If you have any traces of the GigE driver left on your PC, I would suggest removing them.

Other that that, there was another rare issue with disconnects from the internet, but that had to do with IT security shutting down ports due to our EthercatDAQ driver. There however shouldn't be any differences between the 32 and 64-bit versions of the installer at the moment.

I would advise that you download the latest 32-bit installer and try the installation again. If that will again cause problems, please let me know and we'll go from there.
