Digital out on Dewesoft X2

Hi,

We are trying to get a trigger out signal on our Sirius in order to trigger a high speed camera. We used the Dewesoft specific tutorial ("Digital Out on Dewesoft devices") and plug a cable on the sync port to get the trigger signal. We managed to get signal on this port but we then tried to set an alarm on an analog in signal to get a trigger on the sync port. The problem is that we could not activate the "DAQ digital output" in the "Hardware setup" windows as we did not find this option in Dewesoft X2. It howether works perfectly fine with the X1 software.

Could someone tell me where to find this option in X2?

Hi,

this option that was formerly located in the hardware setup can now be found in DEWESoft's channel setup itself. If you press on the plus button, you can select the alarms option under the general tab. I've marked it in the attached image. There, you should already have all of the options available and don't need to enable anything in the settings.

Thanks for your quick reply. I already have selected the alarm option in the channel setup tab. The thing is that I am looking for the "Use DAQ digital output" option there is in X1 version (see file attached "Enabling_digital_output_X1.png") leading to the "Alarm output selection" (see attached file Alarms_X1.png). I cannot find the option in X2... that is why I cannot select any alarm output (see attached file "Alarms_X2.png). Without selecting this output then I don't get any signal on sync port when the alarm turns on.

Hi,

this appears to be an issue of the early versions of X2. If you use later version of the software, you should be able to see everything automatically. I would recommend that you upgrade your software to the latest release version, which is SP7. You only have to download the zip file, extract it and place it's content in the X2 folder by overwriting the original files. I've also attached a guide in case you have any trouble with the update.
