DEWESOFTX + MonoDAQ LCM too high warning.
Hello,
I am new to DEWESoft and just learning the software. Please forgive / correct my nomenclature so that I can continue to learn.
I am using DEWESoftX Version 2025.2 (RELEASE-250802) (64-bit) with MonoDAQ U-X.
I have started setting up a .dxs file and I am getting the following "warning". (attached image):
"Sample rate divider LCM too high. This usually means to many different sample rate dividers"
I have received this warning 5 or 6 times so far. Everything seems to be working correctly, but I am obviously not doing something correctly.
I have two analog input channels set up with a sample rate of 10 Hz.
I have created a Time channel with the "Time axis" SRDiv set to 10 (to produce a 1 Hz update). The "Tiime Channel" formula = "time / 60" so that my time is displayed in "0.01" minutes.
I have two additional Math channels created to apply a linear calibration to each analog input. Additionally, I have the SRDiv set to 10 on each of these Math channels.
Is anyone able to explain (in simple terms) why I am receiving this warning regarding the "Sample rate divider LCM too high"?
Very much appreciated!
Best regards,
Chris

Dear Chris,
thank you for reaching out to us.
I can see that you are experiencing a warning working with DewesoftX. The error, " Sample rate divider LCM too high", usually happens if there is a big difference in sample rates.
Could you please let me know which devices you are working with, and which sample rates you are using? If possible, I would kindly ask if you could Show me the Analog in screen and the Monodaq-U screen:
Additionally, could you please try to slightly increase the Sync DB Buffer length under performance settings?
Best regards,
Pika
Hello Pika,
Thank you so much for your response.
Please see below screen captures as requested. Please note that I have blurred out some proprietary information as this is a semi-public forum.
Please note a few things:
1.) There is only one analog input in this setup, but this setup file has also been exhibiting the same "Warning" as described in my original message.
2.) The Warning message is not displayed above as it normally does take a little time before the Warning error presents.
3.) I am using one of our own in-house sensors which provides a 0 to 5 volt signal.
4.) As you can see, I have the sample rate set to 10 Hz.
5.) I have provided some additional screen captures for your reference.
6.) I have increased the "Sync DB buffer length" from 2 seconds to 5 seconds. Is this a reasonable adjustment? I have not yet seen the error message since making this adjustment. Without totally understanding the effect of increasing the buffer size, I'm hoping this is a reasonable solution? All of our sensors have a reasonably slow response time (in the seconds range).
Your time and expertise is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Chris

Dear Chris,
thank you for the follow up. I am glad to hear that you are no longer seeing the warning after increasing the Sync DB buffer length. As far as this size is concerned, we cannot really provide any general suggestions, since the performance varies based on modules, plugins, ... Since it looks like you setup now works, I would recommend keeping the buffer the way you currently have it set up.
If you notice that the issue of "Sample rate divider LCM too high. This usually means to many different sample rate dividers" came back, please let us know, and we'll continue troubleshooting.
Best regards,
Pika
