DEWESoft X3 - RunExeFile error
Hi,
I just downloaded and installed DEWESoft X3 (DEWESoft X3 beta 8 installer (64-bit)) and patched it with DEWESoft X3 SP1 b3 64-bit binary.
I installed DEWESoft as a Measurement Unit, without any plugins but the OPT NET one.
When I start the computer it says that RunExeFile couldn't start because "libxml2-saxonly.dll" is missing.
Where can I find this DLL ?
Thanks a lot,
Regards,
Maxime

Hello,
this DLL should be be installed with DEWESoft X3 and it should also be in the zip file containing the binary files. You should be able to find the dll in your Bin64/X3 folder. Can you please check if the file is located there? If it isn't there, would it be possible, that your anti-virus program is blocking the copying of the dll file?
If you are still experiencing problems, I would recommend, that you download the TeamViewer for quick support from out web page and send an email with the TeamViewer ID to our support mail, so we can have a look.
Best regards,
Anže
Hello Anže,
So I forgot to precise that I installed DEWESoft X3 64 bits !
I had a look at the forlder, and indeed there is a DLL named "libxml2-saxonly64.dll" in both Bin64/X3 folder and binary zip file (see screenshot joined).
I tried to rename this DLL to "libxml2-saxonly.dll" but it didn't work. I think it is still waiting for the 32 bits DLL.

I tried to reproduce your issue with the same steps, but wasn't able to. Did you try running DEWESoft as administrator.
I would still recommend that we try doing a TeamViewer session, so we can better understand what might be causing the problem.
Hi,
DEWESoft X3 works perfectly fine, it is just RunExeFile program which crashes on Windows startup.
The computer I am using is not on my company's network, I am trying to find a way to connect it on the internet.

Hello,
So, I found out that RunExeFile.exe was located in :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\DEWESoft Shared
I looked at it in my computer where DEWESoft X3 was installed, and indeed there was only the "libxml2-saxonly64.dll" DLL installed.
I copied the "libxml2-saxonly.dll" I had on another computer with the latest DEWESoft X2 installed. And it works fine now (look at the screenshot).
I think the DEWESoft X3 installer doesn't include the "libxml2-saxonly.dll" (which is a 32 bits DLL). The installer provides a 64 bits DLL in the 32 bits (X86) folder of Windows. Weird !

Hi,
I talked to our developer about this and he told me, that a 64bit RunExeFile hasn't been made yet and that is why it still requires the 32bit dll. The 64 bit launcher will be added when X3 officially releases.
Kind regards,
Anže
