Hi,

I take a lot of microphone measurements with Dewetron (w Dewesoft X3 sp3) and I always end up exporting the data to post-process in Matlab because to my knowledge Dewesoft does not have scaling in Sone Levels (I only see Sound dB option in Dewesoft for the microphone data). Is there any other way you guys can suggest to speed up my post-processing or please let me know if any different version of Dewesoft has Loudness scaling in Sones, thanks.

Hi,

which module in Dewesoft do you use to convert to dBA: Sound Level Meter? It would be possible to add this option there. Until then you can use the standard Dewesoft standard module: Formula. As an input you can use dBA from SLM or something similar and the following formula to convert value to sone:

Sone = 10^((dBA - 28) / 33.2)

Below is the picture of the refernce curve for sone.

Hi, for some quick post-processing in the field, I am adding Acoustic Weighting Filters+ FFT and plotting in 3D Graph (so I have the option for axis in Sound dB) but I think it will be a great improvement for Dewesoft having Sone levels as an option for the axes as well as Overall Loudness Calculation in Sones (Zwicker, Moore algorithms i.e.), for most of the engineers dealing with NVH, acoustics etc. loudness analysis in Sones it is a must thing to have, thanks.

Thank you for the suggestion, we will add this to our wish list.

Thank you for your interest again, just to be clear I am talking about something like "Total Loudness" option in the LMS, thanks!

We would like to inform you that there is a new "Sound quality" plugin with which you can also calculate "Loudness" according to Zwicker and Moore-Glasberg method.

You can find more information about the Sound quality in the following link.

Thanks for letting me know from here, we already bought the plug-in but at least Tonality, Prominence Ratio and Roughness/Harshness metrics should be included too, unfortunately I would say the current state of the plug-in is not worth the extra money we paid (even though we bought the DSA package previously this plug-in was an add-on for us so we had to pay).

If this is an add-on "Sound Quality plug-in" for DSA package, I would say half of the metrics are not included in it.

But as I heard from our Dewesoft contact, Prominence Ratio will be added soon so we are waiting for the future updates of the plug-in, thanks.
