It installed OK for me by copying just the executable into my previous installation.
Works fine with my dewe-43.
But how can I stop the annoying message "Error loading map file" which pops up a few seconds after dewesoft starts.

A clean install of dewesoft X seems to have fixed the problem .....
Annoying that dewesoft X installs as dewesoft 7.1 (not dewesoft X). I had a previous install of 7.0 which I had upgraded through 7.05 to 7.1 by copying the latest *.exe file and whilst cleaning up decided to do a clean install of dewesoft 7.1 as well. But 7.1 now wants to install not as 7.0 but as 7.1 ...... which is now actually dewesoft X ... and insists I uninstall dewesoft X before allowing the "downgrade".
Can I get dewesoft X and dewesoft 7.1 on the same machine at all? I want to do it because my clients use dewesoft 7.1 on a dewetron recorders and people call me asking for help with 7.1.

Generally 7.1 or X is is meant to be installed on one system.
Both can be used so that one is installed, then exe from the other is copied on the same folder. Then you can run whichever you need.
