DCUTerm plugin

Hi there,

I'm trying to use a third party plugin (DeweDCUTermInput.DLL) that seems like it was initially designed to work with DeweSoft 6, based on the DCUTerm documentation.

I was trying to work with Dewesoft X3 32-bit (since the DCUTerm is a win32 plugin).

I also have installed for Dewesoft X3, the Ethernet Receiver plugin. I am able to see UDP packets through the Ethernet Receiver plugin, so I know that Dewesoft is able to see packets, but the DCUTerm plugin is not able to see any information when the known IP address is used.

Does anyone have any experience using this plugin?

Any help very much appreciated.

Hi Colin,

This is a bit of proprietary code owned by Bombardier Transportation. The author is Ake Alexandersson.

It was indeed designed for dewesoft 6 but it works with dewesoft 7 and X. It is not reliable with 64 bit operating systems ... no-one really knows why and no-one has a budget to investigate! Sometimes it works, sometimes not. It works fine with dewesoft X2 running in windows XP and I used to use it extensively. It was SO SO useful for a few years; sadly I can't trust it any more.

You can mail me at Nick.Arran@rail.bombardier.com to discuss. The more people need it, the more chance it can be fixed.

Correction: the author of the software is Ake Christensen.
