Counter does not show any reading
Hello,
I am trying to measure number of pulses given by the hall sensor of a BLDC motor using basic event counting of counter module. The sensor has digital voltage output of 5V at high state, whose output has been connected to IN0 pin of the counter channel 7 in Sirius i DAQ (other pins have been left unconnected). I am not able to observe any count pulses. However, as measured by a multi meter, there is 3 V output at the pins. Not sure, what is wrong.

Hi,
could you maybe send us the model of the sensor and how it is connected to Sirius slice?
Does any of the channels on that counter detect anything?

Attaching the hall effect sensor datasheet.
Sensor wires are connected to Sirius I, pin 8, IN0 pin and ground pin. All the channels in tht counter show a value of 1 without any change.

Hi,
on the counter connector, there are only 7 pins. This is the wiring that should be used.
Hello,
Will this still work if I connect just the gnd pin and IN0/A pin? because the hall effect sensor is a part of BLDC motor and is powered by the motor drive control.
@srujana j
The sensor should not care where its getting VCC as long as its pwered. The signal definitely needs ground back to the counter input.
