Good Afternoon everyone,

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my post.

I have been working with Dewesoft for about 6 months. The question was asked today about if you can use Dewesoft to control a load and Power Source.

There are four main components that I would need to set this up.

  1. A computer with Dewesoft X Installed and a DAQ from Dewesoft, I have the SIRUS model.
  2. One Power Source, so I can charge the EUT (Equipment Under Test)
  3. One Load Bank, so I can discharge the EUT
  4. Voltage and current probes for the SIRUS Model

Right now the goal is to use the EUT to charge and discharge and use Dewesoft to control and monitor the EUT.

  1. I would like Dewesoft to control the load and power source to where I can set up a load profile and charge profile to run automatically
  2. Also be able to use Dewesoft to monitor the EUT.

Right now the power source and load bank use a IEEE-488 GPIB Interface. This interface would hook up to the computer, how would i use C++ code (or you recommend) to control the load and power source.

The bigger question is, can this even be done.

Thank you for your time,

Joe

Dear Joe,

unfortunately, our devices do not support the GPIB Interface.

But if you could provide some more additional information about the equipment you are using, we can find some other solution which could be useful for your application. If it is possible it would be best if you could provide some data sheets of the devices which you are using so we can check the possibilities for the communication with our Devices of Software.
