CAN data - DBC file management (removing and loading DBC files easily)
Hi,
I have a situation in which my DBC files are regularly changing. In something like Vector Canalyzer I can manage the DBC files being used with a Database Manager very easily, by loading and unloading entire DBC files.
In Dewesoft X2 and using DS-CAN2 hardware, how can I unload a DBC file I have loaded? The problem is, when I add a DBC file (which is wonderfully easy) it adds each individual message/channel and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to remove just the contents of 1 DBC file, leaving the others (and their associated USED or other channel settings / renames etc) intact.
Obviously I don't want to have to go down a list of hundreds of channels/messages and pick out the ones that belong to the particular DBC file I want to change. Is there a way around this? Or is there a way to sort the CAN0 list by DBC file association so I can delete them via the sorted list?
Many thanks.

Hi,
unfortunately, DEWESoft doesn't remember which channels were loaded from which *.dbc file and this is not an easy feature to implement.
We have added it to the wish list: SWAUTO-409 CAN data - DBC file management (removing and loading DBC files easily)
If it will be implemented, we will reply to this forum topic.
Is there any progress on this request as I can see it being useful in my job for changing of dbc files in Dewesoft, which I agree in Vector is easier to switch, instead of keep adding more and more dbc files.
