We frequently conduct ride performance testing using DEWE43 and brake testing with another device (Racelogic VBox Mini)

Our Velocity input to Dewesoft is a USB GPS receiver which, does not have a fast enough refresh rate or positional accuracy to produce reliable brake test results. For example, when decelerating from 50km/h the speed displayed on Dewesoft does not reach zero until several seconds after the vehicle has physically stopped.

Purchasing a new speed recording device is not currently an option due to cost.

We already have a 3-axis accelerometer used for ride performance testing - Is it feasible to consider using this to somehow increase accuracy of the brake testing?

We need to display stopping distance in meters and deceleration in -m/s^2

Dear Phill,

the accelerator should measure both positive and negative acceleration. To calculate distance you can use double integration in math settings.
