Automatically created Video (AVI file) has no sound

Good Afternoon,

We have just setup a webcam to log video footage of our testing in sync with our other measurements. We have noticed that as part of this after hitting store Dewesoft creates the video file for us separately as an AVI file in the data folder, but this video does not have any sound. Is there anyway to get this video to have sound also? we are using a webcam that has a built in microphone so it would be very useful to use this also.

We are using Dewesoft X2 sp10.

Hi,

unfortunately you will not be able to read the sound through Dewesoft via your USB camera. Dewesoft actually can acquire the sound through the sound card, but we only allow it in simulation mode. To add the sound, you'd need to connect an analog microphone to your system. In a real measurement (with actual hardware), you'll get access to the sound card for making voice notes.
