A)How to manually edit a TEDS sensor after its been scanned? B)TEDS scan disable toggle doesn't seem to do anything.
I have a selection of TEDS-enabled IEPE sensors which get scanned and populated immediately after software launch.
This part works as expected.
What I need to do is EDIT a few of these sensors manually but it appears once the scan is complete it locks the sensor for editing of any kind.
Question: how can I edit a TEDS enabled sensor after its been scanned, while also retaining the other sensor's TEDS settings.
Additionally, under Edit Columns, there’s a TEDS scan Enable/Disable toggle that doesn’t seem to work as expected. I would think you could toggle Disable, let the system scan all BUT the the disabled channels then go in and edit the disabled channels manually. But this is not the case. The disabled channels are scanned anyway and locked for editing just like the others.
I did find a workaround for this but its clunky and involves going into the Software setting options a few times.

Dear Lemmy,
Dewesoft does not allow writing to TEDS sensors if they were created by a manufacturer other than Dewesoft. In order to modify the TEDS settings, you will need to use the TEDS Editor. You can download the TEDS Editor from our website in the download section. For further instructions on how to use the TEDS Editor, please refer to the manual.
Regarding the Enable/Disable TEDS scan toggle, it works as expected but requires understanding that when setting up channels, Dewesoft will automatically scan the channels for TEDS sensors. If you wish to disable this, you can turn off the TEDS sensor scan by going to Settings → Devices → Enable DSI adapters, TEDS sensors. This will prevent Dewesoft from reading TEDS sensors at all.
Additionally, the Enable/Disable TEDS scan toggle can be effectively used if you enable the option Scan TEDS only once under Settings → Advanced. This means that Dewesoft will only read the TEDS sensors once at the start. After that, you can disable certain channels, and they will remain disabled because Dewesoft will not continuously scan the TEDS sensors.
However, please note that in order to fully disable the channels, you will need to reset the desired channels using the RESET button (right click on the channel ID), as TEDS settings are initially read when the channel is first set up.
It’s important to mention that even if you disable the scan, this will not allow you to write to TEDS sensors. Since these sensors are not created by Dewesoft, they cannot be modified directly in Dewesoft. You will still need to use the TEDS Editor to make any changes.
Let me know if you need any further clarification.
Best regards,
Hana
