I'm testing DewesoftX 2022.2 32-bit on Windows 7 to see if I can upgrade from 2021.5.

In 2022.2, when importing a CAN DBC file, the scale, offset, max, and min values seem to get ignored. I've attached a representative DBC file to this post.

This is how the CAN setup screen appears after importing on 2022.2:

This is the 2022.2 setup window for one of the parameters:

And this is how 2021.5 appears right after importing:

This is the setup window in 2021.5 for the same parameter:

On a somewhat related note, I'm unable to test DBC import in 2022.3 RC or 2022.4 dev because with both of those I get an error upon startup that only gives me the option to submit a bug report or close Dewesoft. "Startup critical error: dwvideo.dll not loaded (error code: 126)"

With 2021.6 and 2022.1, attempting to import a DBC file completely crashes/freezes Dewesoft.

All of my testing is currently limited to the 32-bit versions, as my test laptop has Windows 7 32-bit installed.

Thank you

Dear William,

Do you run the latest release 2022.2?

In the last patch this should be solved. This is definitely solved in 2022.3 RC but you're having the problem with missing .dll.

If you download the dll from Drive and add it into 2022.3 and 2022.4 install folders (directly in "bin" folder) both of the DewesoftX versions will began to work.

Please let me know if this issue is still present with latest DewesoftX versions.

Kind regards,

William Koch

Hi Matjaž,

Thank you for your reply. I had not noticed that there was a newer build of 2022.2 available. I was using build 220627 when I found the problem.

I installed build 220706 and the problem does indeed appear to have been solved.

I am not sure if it is possible to make a new build of the same year+number (e.g. 2022.2) version more obvious on the Downloads page. I had assumed that each numbered release was monolithic and wasn't updated until the next release. I will subscribe to the "official release version" so that I get notifications of new builds.

I will download the DLL you have linked and keep it for the future if I have problems with the official versions of 2022.3 or 4.

Thank you!
