Dear All,

I have a noise level measurement data with a record length of 2 minutes and sampled at 20.000 Hz. I need to make a 1/3 octave band analysis and FFT analysis for the whole 2 minute noise level data. I guess It should be a simple thing however I managed to see it instantaneously inside the software (1/3 octave band or FFT) however I'm not able to get an average result for the whole record.

Kindly requesting help.

Hi,

if you have already recorded the datafile, you can make an overall (averaged) 1/3 octave analysis and FFT analysis with the offline math. Just click on the setup tab of the datafile in analyse, click on the math tab and add FFT or octave analysis. Chose your signal as the input and select overall (averaged) in the calculation type, this will give you the overall average as a result.

The same applies for measure mode.

I hope this answered your question, if you have any other question ask away.
