fpga timeout

I keep getting this warning message "Device=DEWE-43( ) FPGA timeout=500ms;cmd xxx"

What to do?

My dewe 43 has the latest firmware and is connected to a laptop running X2 SP9.

Anyone seen this or know what it means?

I would suggest upgrading the firmware again, because something might have gone wrong during the upgrade. If the issue is still appearing, there could be something wrong with the FPGA on your device and the only solution would be opening a RMA.

It took two attempts to re-flash the firmware. First attempt resulted in an error (panic time), then dewesoft lost comms with the dewe-43, then the dewe-43 asked for new firmware and it installed OK. Currently on soak test with no issues.

What would cause FPGA firmware corruption?

I'm not sure what could cause this problem. Did you have anything connected to the DEWE-43 during the upgrade? Can you tell me what firmware pack you used for the upgrade, so we can try reproducing the issue here.

Thank you.

I did the orignal upgrade with nothing connected to the dewe-43 but the laptop. I did the upgrade over a hotel wifi.

It's now running reliably with X2 SP9 and firmware 6.1.23.16. A mystery.

Three days of data acquisition this week, so I will have a good opportunity to see if it is really fixed!
