External digital trigger SIRIUS STG DSUB 16CH
Hello, we want to start the acquisition of our SIRIUS by using an external digital signal (TTL, HTL, or dry contact). Actually we know that this can be done with one of the 16 available channels, but our application requires the use of the whole 16CH, therefore we can not assign one of the channels for the external trigger. The question is, is the SYNC connector (lemo 4 pin ) ready to serve as a trigger in ?. If so, which kind of signal its required ?. How to configure it ?. Thanks in advance

Dear Elkin,
unfortunately, currently you can only use sync port for external synchronisation signal such as PPS ( 5V 1Hz), IRIG-B-DC or IRIG-B-AC and not for the trigger signal. The CNT amplifier on Sirius device have an option of DI signals. Another option is Krypton4xDI device.
This is actually on the wish list but we do not have a timeline for the implementation.
From where would you receive the trigger signal that you want to implement into Sirius system? Maybe we can find some kind of workaround.
Regards
Hello, thanks for your quick reply. The trigger signal its coming from a PLC, beckhoff specifically. We have the posibility of send the signal as TTL (5v), HTL(24V) or simply as a contact (Solid state relay). This signal should launch the acquisition but the 16CH needs to be available. Regards.

Dear Elkin,
the TTL(5V) signal that is acceptable in the sync pin is meant for the actual synchronisation of the system and not as a trigger. For a reference a GPS PPS signal for the synchronisation.
If the "Trigger" signal can be captured/recorded with Sirius device, maybe we can adjust the trigger within the Storing module.
