Hello, Is it possible to clock externally with an encoder connected to our dewe 43A? Kind regards,

Hello,

Is it possible to clock externally with an encoder connected to our dewe 43A?So, i hope to see angle (degrees) on the X line, and the samples (analog inputs) on the Y ax

Kind regards,

Hello Tjeerd, Answer directly from Jure: -- Dewe43 has 24 bit sigma delta ADC providing brick wall alias free data acquisition. Its counters are precisely matched with analog data which allows is to resample the data to frequency domain after filtering. This procedure, if calculated in correct way is better than direct external clocking where it is very easy to get unwanted aliases. Order tracking and combustion analyzer math functions implement this function. -- Best regards, Marjan.

Thank's Marjan, I like to measure hydraulique pressure, and the accompanying shaft position at the same time with an trigger every 360deg. The frequency of the shaft is not stabil/linear, and therefore I like to measure with an external encoder connected to the shaft. Max shaft frequency is about 9Hz, connected encoder with720 pulses and trigger every 360deg, max sample rate of the dewe is 200 kS/s that means i have allready a fault in angle of 200.000/(9*720)*100%= 3procent We have an dewe5000 with dewesoft6 and dewe combustion analyze software, the dewe43 is on the otherhand running on dewesoft7 proffesional edition (without combustion analyzer/ordertracking) So it's an very small measurement, and i have an time issue beacause this measurment needs to be done next week. And for a small measurment like this its a bit difficult for me to get money for for additional hard/software. result: headache the combustion analyser can do this small measurement for me with an external HTL or TTL encoder (which we have in stock). But the dewe5000 with CA is not avaiable as it is allready used on another measurement location. So i try to figure out if it is posibble to use our new dewe43 as emergency solution, to measure the hydraulique pressure and encoder values, and export only the data to excell with position of the shaft in steps of 0,5 degrees with the accompanying pressures. Is it perhaps possible to connect an CAN-bus absolute encoder to the dewe43 to make an accurate measurment? Thank you for your time. Regards,

Note that thanks to »super counter« operation much greater precision can be achieved with DEWE-43, see http://www.dewesoft.com/dewesoft7/features > Counter interface. You can use Evaluation license; free for 30 days to perform your measurement: http://www.dewesoft.com/registration > Evaluation license
Is it perhaps possible to connect an CAN-bus absolute encoder to the dewe43 to make an accurate measurment?”
DEWE-43 CAN input supports A-B-Z signal. You can check chapter 2.5.2 Encoder inside Dewesoft manual. Best regards, Marjan.
