Analogue output issues with SIRIUS

Dear Dewesoft,

I am generating an analogue output from a SIRIUS. The shape of the output signal is determined by a function I define in a math channel.

However, I noticed that if I connect a voltage tester to any channel, even if I don't generate anything, I have an output of a few mV, which is undesired in my case.

In addition, this also happens sometimes when I generate a 0V output.

Do you know what can cause this? Thanks.

Regards,

Emanuele

Dear Emanuele,

could you please provide a data file so we can see if this is a normal behaviour or it's something else causing this issue.

Dear Dewesoft,

I will provide a data file, but the SIRIUS outputs about 20-30 mV even if the software is not running, I just saw this using a tester. Is this value within the uncertainty of the instrument?

Dear Emanuele,

we talked with our hardware developers, and this is their answer:

typical offset results at factory calibration is less than 5mV for 20kS/s and 80kS/s. Specified limit is 20mV.

Only 2% of measurements that passed are above 5mV.

Values above specified limit 20mV are not within the uncertainty of the instrument. Please return the unit for check and calibration.
